Thanks for such a beautiful updates and all the art links! Have a lovely time preparing for winter :-) Here it's started to feel quite autumnal, the warmer weather is gone - most days theres is some rain showers and it's just a bit more windy and chilly. I do like autumn a lot but I do like the light (the North of England can be really dark during the colder seasons....). Autumn for me is more the kind of autumn we have in Germany, there's something called "Altweibersommer" in the first few weeks and months which can be the type of weather you can even get in October there - golden light, warmish weather, the beautiful colourful leaves, and also October is often called "goldener Oktober" (for the light). Anyway, quite a different experience here most autumns!

My summer was quite difficult, nothing wanted to go to plan somehow - health issues, personal problems, work being affected by the health stuff. I'm slowly making some progress toward my current work goal but have to be really diligent the next few months now.

Catching up on this a day late and thank you for the inspiration to continue “The Work” - you’ve become a muse for me to continue producing content here on Substack - damn the torpedos!

I’m up and down a lot as life feels precarious at times here in DC, but I’m sailing on.

Keep creating (as if you need the encouragement from me) - I know you will.

PS - long shot here, if you’d care to guest on “Harrowings Podcast” I would be forever in your debt - even further than I already feel myself to be. I do these on Substack Live - low production - unedited, raw.

Thank God there are leaders in this country who are doing the REAL business of staying alive -- interest rates; economics; health studies, etc. -- which, as a byproduct, allow such inconsequential uses of one's own energy and talents such as these.

I loved being able to see the exhibit on the opening night with all the surprises it held:) I think it was for the better good of everyone that I missed the karaoke lol, but I will be there tomorrow.

The workspace is moving forward in leaps and bounds too:) Definitely great things ahead!

Jesse, you are definitely in the flow. Your excitement about the workspace jumps off the page - a happy dance ensues, and work moves along.

Good to know more about the Pen & Brush Gallery and its mission. A busy creative time for you.

And Elizabeth St. Garden - is there more news on that front? I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Here's to you, Jesse.

I knew you’ve been a busy bee 🐝

I love the energy of NYC. I’ve always felt recharged being in the city.

I love watercolors and beginning to learn. I’ve been finding high quality watercolor paper at thrift stores. I now have a large stack to practice. I’d like to see Rebecca’s watercolors. 🎨

I wish I could see your karaoke videos. You have such a sweet voice. I’d love to hear your karaoke songs.

I don’t have IG as it’s too distracting for me.

Your letters exhibit is a wonderful idea! Betsy’s note made me laugh. “Diet be damned it’s Christmas!”

May you have a most wonderful day as well. 🌹

Hi Jessie-I know you’re a cat lover so I just wanted to tell you about the amazing cat I just adopted. She’s seven and was confiscated ( the shelters words) from a hoarder and her prognosis was fair. I’ve had her about 5 weeks and she would spend the whole day eating playing and purring! I’m mostly posting this in case anyone is considering adopting a rescue dog or cat, don’t hesitate to, it will be one of the coolest things you can do!

Always adopt!! The animals are so grateful. In fact, I am working on an art project fundraiser combining animal adoption and rock music. Adoption and Fostering saves lives!

This update feels like a love letter to creativity, community, and the quiet joy of building something meaningful, one shelf, one song, one shared moment at a time. Your workspace sounds like a sanctuary in motion, and the Pen & Brush exhibit is clearly pulsing with heart and history. I love how your words weave together art, friendship, and purpose with such tenderness. Wishing you a winter full of light, depth, and the kind of magic that only comes from showing up fully. Thank you for letting us walk beside you.
