Jesse! Wow! What a beautiful share! Absolutely sumptuous! Every single lovely sentence brought more eager curiosity, pride, joy and awe! Your mastery of heart and storytelling skills is just epic my girl! Looking forward to reading this again as it is jam-packed with golden goodness. Love you darling!
What a beautiful post Jesse. It is not a coincidence that all these people....Steven Sebring, David Chang, Adriel Lyles, you and your Mother are interconnected and have found each other at the most opportune time. There is magic in the universe...we just have to be open to receiving it. Thank you for sharing this post. I believe that the universe works in the most benevolent ways to aid us in our journeys.
What an amazing encounter! Thank you for sharing this beautiful day of yours. It's also great to discover Adriel's work (it sounds like a name from Tolkien's books!) and David Chang's calligraphy. You're spreading beauty, thank you for the gift!
I've admired calligraphy for most of my life! With my late Mom as painter and my late Dad as civil engineer, art and design is practically in my DNA. I still remember the thrill of reviewing Elizabethean era legal documents during my time living and working in Bristol England after graduating college back in late 80s. Beautiful calligraphy script written across stiff parchment paper. It was mesmerizing. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story and works of art. 😁❤️
What comes to my mind, and is repeating itself over and over, is ‘wow!’ Just, wow! You have generously shared one of the most beautiful stories of serendipitous events I’ve ever encountered, Jesse. I will reread this , carefully, many times, until the reality of it all sinks in and assures me that, yes, the universe is watching over each of us. Thank you…
Such a beautiful craftsmanship, both David's calligraphy and the pens! And such amazing connections, quite surprising and unexpected yet seems like they felt quite natural.
I'm struggling to find alignment at the moment and everything seems so far from perfect these days but there are some small rays of light and even if I'm in a standstill on some level at least I feel like I have 'found my people'. Hopefully other things will fall into place at some point too.
I remember wanting to learn the chinese calligraphy at some point in my life, it seemed so beautiful and calming to trace those exotic signs with the smooth movements of a brush. I might still give it a go one day. I'll share the results of course :) xx
Here’s to your wonderful serendipitous adventures! When I was 18, I had the good fortune to study with the great calligrapher, Barbara Bash. There is something so magical about pen and ink. If only humans could solve our differences with pen and ink instead of bombs and bullets! I’m continually amazed by your skills and dedication to storytelling. Thank you 😊
Side note : I would never have had the auspicious meeting with Robert Frank and June if not for visiting Overthrow.
Here’s to auspicious coincidence.
⭕️🌀⭕️ yours in kindness, conversation and celebration.
I read this last night Jesse, and woke thinking about it, the pens are absolutely beautiful what a perfect gift, but the boxing? Leaves me sad, coz those who choose to turn their hands into the instruments of violence must then find an excuse to use it on those that don't, like they didn't do what I said, or stood in my way, or are just the wrong colour etc....
Jesse, this piece was so visceral I could sense the magic continuing to unfold as each person, moment and connection was revealed. I feel like these kinds of experiences are sustenance for the soul, all the senses firing, wrapped up in kismet. Thank you for sharing!
I love when you find yourself in a time where everything and everyone connects and is connected. The first time it happened to me I was way too young to understand the process and experience the awe. These past few months I have found it happening again and for the first time really be awestruck by it.
How beautiful are those pens🥰🩷what a wonderful talented young man. I still am thinking of joining the left hand challenge, I think I’ll he rubbish though😂much luv xx 🩷🕊️
