Thank you so much Jesse. It's been amazing even just to take part now by watching it and listening to those words, the energy still comes across so well. Thank you for doing this autumn poetry reading ๐๐๐๐งก I did this after working a weekend shift today and I feel really calm and grounded now.
Thank you, Jesse. This was lovely and actually quite powerful for me. In Wendell Berry's poem, "September 2," he writes, "And in my mind, where had stood a garden straining to the light, there grew an acceptance of decline. Having worked, I would sleep, my leaves all dissolved in flight." I didn't see, until now, that I was fighting decline. My husband has been holding on, at 89, to staying alive, and I have been tearing around trying to hold everything together, at age 76. It was so clear suddenly that I have to stop. Accept what happens every day and stay with it, gently. Hold the moments gently, rather than fighting what I cannot change. Thank you, Jesse. Poetry is so powerful but when I am rushing around, I don't take time to go to it. So thanks for bringing it to me.
You have touched my heart Jesse with your perfect reading of these beautiful poems of Autumn ! Such a melancholy season and so so full of wonderful colour ! Thank you again for awakening my imagination and my senses today ! Sending love and the joy of Autumn back to you ! ๐
Thank you for providing this safe, warm. welcoming place, to give attention to our ancestors and our feelings of loss and grief. Blessings Jesse. Iโm glad you have tools to navigate this dark time. The Robert Frost poems were perfect. Mary Oliver always.
I have received a beautiful gift by coming across your space, Jesse. You've graciously blessed each of us with your lovely spirit. ๐ป This special event has united and touched us all in unique ways. Thank you for your virtual warm hugs with candlelight. ๐ฆ And especially for reminding us to return to Nature, and get back to an authentic sense of self as we've been created. I appreciate you, and your extraordinary gift of hospitality. 'Til next time ๐ค
Aww Jesse. So kind of you to assist us as we all enter into the autumn times. As the days shorten, the shadows grow longer. I will remember your thoughts of togetherness from the deep history time to now. Thank you!
Loving the last reminders of the heat of the sunshine in the flame trees outside our window as we go into the darker times of Fall and Winter... Finding my feet in wetness, walking upon golden fallen leaves, sinking into the muddy ground -- this is accepting it all -- this Northwest forest living and leaving behind the ocean sparkling in the sun and bare feet in the sand. The sky laughs as it mimics me by raining... feel it all, it says...
Hi! Wonderful show on Mon at Chicago Theater. I had seats in the center row of the pit and got some great shots. Thought you might like this one.
