Oh Jesse, how marvelous!!! You mentioned so many of my favorite writers. I was just quoting Anne Waldman’s poem “Make-Up on Empty Space” last night! I adore her poetry. And I’m totally going to get this new Charlotte Bronte book! Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
I know I’m a little late here. I have a dream of attending the book fair someday with my daughters. It always looks so wonderful. The Brontë book gives me goosebumps (as does all the Brontë juvenilia). Though I am far away in California, your report almost made me feel as if I had been there. Thank you for that.
I wanted to add that your beautiful fashion sense and incredible outfits are works of art in themselves! Lovely.:-)
Nice coverage, Jesse! The atmosphere & attendance were fabulous this year and our booth at Honey & Wax Booksellers welcomed a constant flow of joyful, engaged fairgoers!
Lovely to see you. And I’m taking your advice to me to wear my black pearls “to the deli and everywhere”! 😄
I was so happy to attend this year! I was sick last year and had to miss it! I bought a copy of Allen’s Airplane Dreams and a vintage French print and Japanese print. There’s something affordable for everyone and countless treasures regardless of the material value. Thanks to you and your Mom for always extolling the importance of reading, owning and collecting books. 🙏🫶
Wonderful recap of the Book Fair. I must pay closer attention to the dates for next year. I happened to be in NYC this past weekend but was already quite busy and so couldn't get over to the event. Alas...next time I'll schedule the trip with nothing else on the schedule!
Such a beautiful event, so glad you shared it. I just read “The Magic Mountain” by Thomas Mann and am in love with his writing. He spent a lot of time writing about philosophy in the novel as part of his character “deepening”; pretty fascinating. Then sometimes, he broke through the fourth wall, tongue in cheek. Quite a novel.
Ohhh amazing ,,, that’s a favorite of both my mom and me . We have both been part of the nexus institute event in Amsterdam that honors and looks at the text and themes explored within it 🌹🌹🌹
Thank you, Jesse! I soaked up every word, written and spoken! What a rich, multi-faceted experience. I already ordered two books you highlighted...the Charlotte Bronte treasure and Flacofolio!
I loved this Jesse, thank you. I can't be there in person so to experience it through you and Lee Penman as I have today is the next best thing. The Bronte book is delicious!
That tiny Charlotte Bronte manuscript is simply amazing. It's the first time I'm seeing it.... Thank you so much for sharing 🌼
Some wonderful photos, looks to be an amazing event, thank you for sharing Jesse 😄

Many thanks for the fascinating report. It’s great news that the Charlotte Brontë book will be published shortly. I have pre-ordered!

I wanted to add just one thing, as is my way:) On the owl theme, a poem by Susan Wood,
Dance of The Barn Owl
The evening draws nigh, and the stage is set,
An inspired portrayal awaits us yet,
The jet-black eyes search the ground,
While invisible ears listen for sound,
Balletic moves and contours to see,
Floating feathers, airless and free,
Cavorting glides and swaying moves,
As night slowly ebbs, the dance improves,
Ghostly white owls float on the breeze,
Performing an encore, draped by the trees,
We perceive the ballet for a fleeting time,
An accomplished performance, a vision sublime.
Congratulations, really wonderful stuff, Thanks!
