RE special items: when I was interviewing for my first job in DC, I stopped by a bookstore in Alexandria, VA. They had a puzzle of the bookstore available for purchase that now sits framed on my nightstand. I love bookstores that sell memorabilia and small trinkets. Great souvenirs for trips.

Jesse, wishing you much success with this year's Book Fair. Your energy and obvious love and

appreciation for the written word makes this a perfect match for you, imo. And thanks for

including some of the past posts.

You have such a great job! Good luck with the fair. I've been 'collecting' from thrift shops, used book stores and such for a long time. Most recent 'acquisition' of note happens to be the French biingual edition of Patti Smith and Tom Verlaine's chapbook of poems, 'The Night / La Nuit' sent to me by a friend who is downsizing.

A special book? Oh, so many. Here's one you might enjoy. In 1980 after going to the Picasso Retrospective at MOMA my friends and I wandered downtown and decided to play a game of going into a bookstore and buying two books that would not seem to go together at first glance and then we'd figure out all the connections that might have been missed. I bought a copy of Babel by your mother and a book of Peanuts comics. The wisdom of Patti and Linus in particular seem to go together nicely.

Dear Jesse, congratulations for always being concerned about books, and old books. April is a full month of great book activities here in México City, and we have plenty of old book stores all over the city, altough they are struggling year after year for survival. We need more and more people taking care of the book´s legacy. Hope I see you soon, maybe can show some of the great book stores that survive.

Do you have any shirts remaining from your Horses tour? They're weren't available at the Seattle show and Jesse said they would be available to order after that. I really wanted to give one to my son's partner for Christmas, but missed that date because I never got a place to order them from. Now, her birthday is coming up in a few days, and I would love to give her a tour shirt as a birthday gift. She and my son are both at university together and they (and I) loved the show.
