Hello everyone. My birthday is almost here (Thursday!), and in honor of this celebratory beginning of a new cycle and season, I want to do something for you all. <3
I am so deeply appreciative of every single person here - for your support, encouragement, and involvement as part of this wonderful and compassionate community. In an ideal world, I would mail a gift to each one of you, though I am not able at the current moment to handle something of that capacity. However, there are other things I can do, and I would like to explore those options, ones that I had originally intended to lean more heavily on when I launched my Substack back in December. Nearly every post has been accessible to all of my subscribers, as I cherish this community and look forward each week to your engagement through the comments and Chat. I want though to do something extra now, to find ways both to engage further and also to send a continued thank you to you all.
I will be moving into a new workspace the first week of July, and one of the things I would like to start doing is offer access to workshops and Zoom calls where we can do creative exercises and explore themes together in real time. I will be sending out a survey to all of my subscribers to gauge your topic interests and anything that hasn’t been touched on or that you would like me to explore or share more fully.
I would also like to send a physical gift package in the mail to each of my paid subscribers, as a way to thank you for financially supporting me to be able to run this operation and put extra energy and time into my writing and the development of my practice. I will be sending out an additional survey form to my paid subscriber list, so if you would like to receive a gift in the mail, please include your address on that forthcoming form. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while - I am really excited for this!
Once I am settled into my new workspace, one of the first things I will do will be to put your gifts together to be mailed out, so I look forward to gathering your addresses as soon as possible! Then I would love to invite everyone to a space-warming Zoom call, so we can connect more personally, ‘face to face.’ I look forward to gathering together with you all, if even from afar. :) I will also continue to think of more surprises and offerings for you as the weeks and months continue. Thank you again for everything you do, for all the words and expressions shared, for your presence and warmth. Like having a birthday present all the time. :)
Stay tuned for the address survey!
Looking forward and thank you again for your continued support and encouragement.
My birthday is in two days, and am thinking this morning about the year behind, and the year ahead. There is so much to be in awe of, so many changes and experiences, and so much more to look forward to. One of the top best things of this past year has been launching and maintaining my Substack - the way it’s shifted my life and helped set me more fully on the path I would like to be on. What are some of your best things from the past year? A person you met, a project started or finished, a life change or decision, anything at all that was significant in any way. It’s nice to take a moment to think about these things. We can get so hung up on ‘where we are in life,’ and the goals not yet accomplished. Thinking we’re ‘not where we thought we would be,’ or ‘not where we’re supposed to be.’ But when we pause for just a moment, it’s easy to think of even one thing we’ve accomplished that we never had planned or that changed our lives in ways we never expected. If we can even think of one thing like that, I’d say we are pretty blessed, and I’d say we are doing great and on the right track. Exactly where we’re supposed to be. Everything happening perfectly. Write in the comments or Chat anything you would like to share. :)
Sending good thoughts always to you all. <3
All the best,
Jesse
Thank you for this generous message, and happy early birthday to you, Jesse. It’s exciting that you will be moving into a new work space soon. Wishing you many joyful hours there, communing with the muse.
I love your t shirt!
I retired early from my nursing job in the community in December and started working casual for retired nuns. These amazing feminist are an eye opener and the perfect way to end my nursing career after 36 years of working for a corporation.
Happy birthday and good vibes sent your way.
